Proactive Personnel are currently recruiting for one of our industry leading clients in Castle Donington for a Sheet Metal Team Supervisor.
Role & Responsibilities
* To be accountable for the safe execution of the operational plan within your area.
* Lead by example with regards to working in a safe manner, avoiding accident or injury to people, damage to machinery or property.
* To ensure that all manufacturing activities are carried out in accordance with the instructions provide and that components produced meet the specified quality standards required.
* Maintaining appropriate approval and training system which ensures that all operators are adequately trained to meet the needs of their job function and to maintain written records, thus demonstrating that appropriate standards have been achieved and are maintained by individuals.
* Prioritises and schedules work to meet the business needs.
* Review and recommend production methods and equipment to ensure that the processes are performed efficiently and at minimum costs.
* Be the lead on lean methods, implement continuous improvements including 5’s activities.
* Ensure that the manning levels needed to support production are appropriate and where necessary instigate actions to adjust the levels to meet the changing needs of the business.
* A key element of this role will be to ensure that all required production records are completed accurately, and that the movement of work is recorded appropriately on the Company data base.
* To assist investigations into causes of non-conformance and propose correction actions to avoid reoccurrence.
* To ensure that appropriate levels of discipline are always maintained and that Company rules and regulations are adhered to.
* Attend cross-functional production meetings.
* Provide the leadership and training required to achieve empowered and motivated individuals and effective cooperation within and between teams.
* Actively manages attendance and performance of direct reports.
* Ensure accurate monitoring and maintenance of employee Time & Attendance and holidays.
* Manage departmental absence through timely managed Return to Work interviews and the use of the Company Absence Policy.
* Maintain a high level of housekeeping practice.
* Comply with all relevant internal rules, policy and procedures, including those related to health and safety and data.
* Be expected to carry out any other such duties as may be reasonably be required of you commensurate with your level within the company.
Knowledge & Experience
* Good solid experience of leading a team in a production environment, preferably aerospace/automobile industries.
* Ideally holding a recognised supervisory qualification.
* IT literate to intermediate level.
* Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
* Experience of sheet metal and machining parts manufacture, used to working to close tolerances.
* Strong leadership skills committed to team and partnership working
* Flexible and able to work additional hours when required

7am - 4pm Mon – Thurs
7am – 12pm Friday
