BIM Engineer – Modular / Power Systems
Ballykelly
Competitive salary (DOE)
Reporting to the Head of Design, you will be responsible for detailed 3D modelling and digital coordination of containerised and skid-based systems.
This role focuses on producing accurate, buildable BIM models, integrating structural elements, electrical systems, and associated services within space-constrained modular environments.
You will play a key role in both project delivery and early-stage design, combining hands-on BIM work with coordination and digital engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
·BIM Modelling & Design
·Develop detailed 3D models for modular units, including containers and skids
·Model structural frameworks, enclosures, and supporting elements
·Systems Integration
·Coordinate and model electrical containment systems (tray, ladder, trunking, busbar)
·Define internal and external cable routing within constrained layouts
·Thermal & Layout Considerations
·Support heat loss/gain assessments within modular environments
·Assist in developing layouts that enable effective cooling and ventilation
·BIM Content & Development
·Create and refine BIM content, including Revit families from existing CAD models
·Tender & Concept Design
·Produce early-stage layouts to support bids and project proposals
·Coordination & Digital Delivery
·Work with common data environments (e.g. ACC) for model sharing and issue tracking
·Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated design outputs
Criteria
·Strong experience using Revit in an engineering or industrial setting
·Ability to interpret engineering drawings (electrical and/or mechanical)
·Comfortable working with evolving designs
·Experience in power, data centre, or industrial environments would be desirable
