About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Hairdressing Tutor/Assessor to join our training team. The successful candidate will inspire, support, and develop learners as they work towards their qualifications, ensuring they gain the practical skills, knowledge, and confidence needed for a successful career in the hairdressing industry.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and effective teaching sessions in hairdressing, covering both theory and practical skills.
* Assess learners' work and provide constructive feedback in line with awarding body requirements.
* Support learners in developing their technical abilities, professional standards, and customer service skills.
* Monitor and record learner progress, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
* Prepare learners for end-point assessments and ensure timely completion of qualifications.
* Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
* Stay up to date with industry trends, techniques, and qualification standards.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to ensure the best outcomes for learners.
Essential Requirements
* Recognised hairdressing qualification
* Teaching qualification (PTLLS, DTLLS, Cert Ed, PGCE or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
* Assessor qualification (A1, TAQA, CAVA or equivalent) Or willingness to work towards one.
* Strong industry knowledge with recent salon experience.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and motivational skills.
* Commitment to supporting learners of all abilities to achieve their potential.
Desirable
* Up-to-date CPD in hairdressing and barbering.
* Flexibility in dates
