Protection & Control Engineer
Location: Yorkshire, London, Suffolk, Scotland (Flexible locations)
Salary: up to £48,000 (+ benefits)

Turner Lovell is recruiting for a Protection & Control Engineer to join a growing UK-based engineering design and infrastructure consultancy.
This is an excellent opportunity for an electrical design engineer to get hands-on with high-voltage substation projects (11kV to 400kV) across transmission and distribution environments, including both greenfield and brownfield schemes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support senior engineers and project leads in the end-to-end delivery of protection and control system designs.
* Create design documentation, including single-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring layouts, cable schedules, and panel drawings.
* Produce technical specifications and logic drawings for protection, SCADA, and automation systems.
* Assist in developing relay logic and protection settings for digital protection relays (e.g., SEL, Siemens, GE).
* Liaise closely with engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure design alignment with project goals.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
* Min 4 years of experience delivering P&C or SCADA system designs within high-voltage substation environments.
* Familiarity with relay logic files, protection coordination principles, and digital relay programming.
* Understanding of UK industry standards and regulations, including CDM.
* Chartered Engineer status or working toward chartership is advantageous.
