We are seeking a Snr Commissioning Engineer to support the delivery of both new asset commissioning and planned outage/shutdown activities across water and wastewater treatment sites. This role bridges capital delivery and operational maintenance, ensuring assets are safely brought online and existing systems are optimised during shutdown periods.
You will play a key role in coordinating site activities, managing technical interfaces, and ensuring all systems are tested, compliant, and ready for operation or return to service.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support commissioning activities on new and upgraded MEICA assets
* Carry out pre-commissioning and commissioning tasks, including I/O checks, loop testing, and functional testing
* Develop and execute commissioning plans, procedures, and documentation
* Coordinate and manage planned outages/shutdowns, including isolation, maintenance access, and reinstatement
* Work closely with site teams, subcontractors, and operations to ensure safe and efficient delivery
* Oversee fault finding and troubleshooting during commissioning and outage phases
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, including permit-to-work systems
* Support handover to operations, including training and documentation
* Assist with programme scheduling and reporting progress against key milestones
Key Requirements
* Experience in a Commissioning Engineer, Site Engineer, or Maintenance/Outage role within water or similar process industries
* Strong understanding of MEICA systems, including pumps, motors, valves, and control systems
* Familiarity with PLC/SCADA systems and instrumentation testing
* Experience working on planned shutdowns or outages (advantageous)
* Knowledge of permit-to-work, isolation procedures, and site safety protocols
* Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and technical drawings
* Strong coordination and communication skills across multiple stakeholders
* Background in water/wastewater treatment processes
* Experience with handover documentation and O&M manuals
* Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
