Pastoral Lead Salary: £27,463 - £29,982 £15.37 - £16.78 per hour Permanent | Full Time | Term Time Only 40 hours per week Make a Real Difference Every Day We're looking for a compassionate, proactive and resilient Pastoral Lead who is passionate about transforming the lives of young people. This is a hands-on, highly rewarding role where every interaction matters and no two days are the same. You'll be at the heart of a supportive, therapeutic environment, helping young people overcome barriers to learning, build confidence and feel safe, valued and heard. About the Role As Pastoral Lead, you'll play a key role in supporting the wellbeing, behaviour and personal development of students with complex needs, including SEND and SEMH profiles. Working closely with colleagues, families and external agencies, you'll help remove barriers to learning and ensure each young person receives the support they need to thrive. What You'll Be Doing Providing daily pastoral and wellbeing support Delivering 1:1 interventions and mentoring Supporting behaviour, attendance and safeguarding processes Leading conflict resolution, mediation and restorative conversations Supporting PSHE and whole-school wellbeing initiatives Facilitating student voice activities and engagement Building strong relationships with families and carers Attending multi-agency and safeguarding meetings Recording and using pastoral data to inform support strategies Supporting cover and leadership responsibilities where required What We're Looking For You will: Be passionate about supporting young people with additional needs Stay calm, reflective and solution-focused under pressure Be confident using de-escalation and behaviour support strategies Build strong, trusting relationships with students and families Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team Essential Requirements Level 3 qualification (or above) in a relevant area English and Maths at Level 2 Strong experience in pastoral, wellbeing or youth support roles Understanding of safeguarding in education Experience supporting young people with SEND, ASC or mental health needs Why This Role?
