Are you passionate about making a positive difference in children and families lives?
We are seeking to recruit two full time Youth Workers to join the Stronger Families Team (SFT). This is a unique opportunity to work in a dedicated multi professional team to meet the needs of children, young people and families with a strength-based family focussed approach.
These roles will primarily support families in Central and North Nottinghamshire while also being part of the countywide service offer. Our service expansion will provide exciting opportunities and further develop our offer to families and young people both at the edge of care and stabilising / supporting their existing care plans.
As a Youth Worker, within the Stronger Families Team, you will
* Building meaningful relationships with young people with a view to supporting them to build positive relationships with their parents or carers and other professionals
* Be responsible for maintaining active communication with families and delivering informal education that promotes the social, emotional, and educational development of young people
* Provide support grounded in trauma-informed practice, child development principles, and attachment theory
* Be part of a team that provides an intensive service, and you will be expected to meet regularly with families
* Be flexible and responsive to ensure that children, young people, and their families receive tailored and creative support that meets their unique needs
The Stronger Families Team formed in 2022 are a non-statutory support service providing targeted and creative support to children and family members in crisis, where there is risk of breakdown in order to improve outcomes and support more children and young people to live / remain living safely at home and in their communities. This aligns with our practice standards and the direction of travel for Nottinghamshire considering the Families First Partnership Programme reforms and the Nottinghamshire adolescence offer.
You will be able to demonstrate a breadth of knowledge and experience in applying strengths-based practice with young people. You will hold the nationally recognised Level 6 (or equivalent) JNC Youth Work qualification and a full driving licence.
If you're ready to make a meaningful impact and join a passionate team, we'd love to hear from you.
Interviews will take place in either the Home Brewery Building, Arnold or in Mansfield
