Equifind are supporting a startup derivatives trading firm in London's West End to recruit a Management Accountant.
This will be one of the first hires after the founding team, providing a recently chartered accountant the opportunity to help build a high-performing finance function from the ground up.
Founded by a group of successful traders from major institutions and backed by top-tier names in investment banking and venture capital, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing business at an exciting stage.
With the support of a newly appointed Financial Controller, you’ll take ownership of and help shape the finance function, overseeing everything from accounting and treasury to investor reporting and financial operations.
Key Duties:
* Take full ownership of all day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, cash flow management, budgeting, reconciliation, and reporting
* Lead bookkeeping and accounting activities, covering ledger management, bookkeeping, payroll, and month-end processes
* Set up internal controls, financial documentation, and ensure audit readiness
* Work closely with external accountants on annual accounts, statutory filings, and audits
* Generate accurate and timely monthly management accounts and KPI dashboards
* Support board and investor reporting, as well as fundraising efforts
Package and Benefits:
* Base salary of up to £65,000

Application Requirements:
* Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
* Ideally trained and qualified in an accounting firm or a similar financial services organisation
* Ready to take ownership and support at every level of the finance function
* Experience with Xero would be beneficial
* Intermediate-level Excel skills and an interest in learning SQL, VBA or Python
* Good interpersonal and communication skills
* Excellent report writing and able to confidently liaise with a range of stakeholders
* Proven stakeholder management experience and relationship building skills
