Graduate Teaching Assistant
Teaching Personnel are recruiting graduate Teaching Assistants to support secondary schools in and around central and south Manchester from the beginning of the next academic year (September 2026). The Manchester South Secondary team partners with schools in Tameside, central Manchester, South Manchester and Stockport. These specific graduate roles are for schools based in Old Trafford and south Manchester. The role of a graduate Teaching Assistant is suitable for recent university graduates (any degree) or individuals interested in starting a career in education or childcare.
Graduate Teaching Assistant Role Overview:
Provide classroom support under the direction of the class teacher
Work with pupils in groups or provide 1-1 support
Assist with learning activities, resources, and general classroom organisation
Contribute to maintaining behaviour standards and a good learning environment
September 2026 start: applicants must be able to interview/trial at a school in June or July
Location: Secondary schools based in Old Trafford and South Manchester
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, term-time only, starting September 2026
What We’re Looking For:
A graduate with a degree in any subject (or close to completing their degree)
Relevant experience in education/childcare is preferred but not essential
Confident, good communicator with strong organisational skills
Professional attitude
Willingness to receive training and follow school policies
Eager to pursue a career in education or teaching

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
