Overview
We are working with a leading international engineering and construction contractor turning over £500 million per annum, delivering complex mechanical installations across major infrastructure and building services projects.
Due to continued expansion, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead mechanical delivery on projects based at Heathrow Airport. This is a high-profile environment requiring strong technical leadership, programme control and stakeholder management.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of mechanical packages within a structured, safety-critical setting.
Key Responsibilities
Take full responsibility for the mechanical scope from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover
Manage subcontractors, site supervisors and specialist supply chain partners
Control programme delivery, ensuring milestones are met within a live airport environment
Monitor project costs, variations and commercial performance
Review technical drawings, specifications and design submissions
Coordinate closely with the client, consultants and airport stakeholders
Ensure compliance with strict health, safety and operational standards
Lead commissioning strategy and oversee testing and validation processes
Identify risks, manage change and maintain clear reporting to senior management
Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within M&E or building services
Strong background delivering mechanical installations on complex or regulated sites
Experience in infrastructure, aviation, data centre or large commercial projects preferred
Strong commercial awareness and cost management capability
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a live operational environment
Clear understanding of quality, testing and commissioning procedures
Strong leadership and communication skills
