<div><h3>Job Summary</h3><p>We are looking to recruit a Security Officer to assist with maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for the University community through the protection of people, property and assets.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Carry out patrols across campus and surrounding land holdings.</li><li>Cover 24/7 shifts in a 4 on / 4 off rolling pattern (0800–2000 or 2000–0800) for 365 days a year.</li><li>Respond to incidents and provide a safe environment.</li><li>Attend required training courses and maintain full on‑site training.</li><li>Operate with integrity, discretion and honesty when dealing with sensitive issues.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications and Requirements</h3><ul><li>Reasonable physical fitness to perform patrols.</li><li>Experience in an education or similar environment preferred but not essential; full training will be provided.</li><li>Effective communication and excellent customer care skills.</li><li>A full UK driving licence.</li><li>Ability to work both as part of a team and independently.</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Position based at Newport campus.</li><li>Full on‑site training will be provided.</li><li>Closing date for applications: midnight on 22nd June 2026.</li><li>This position does not meet criteria for a Certificate of Sponsorship.
