Asda Pharmacy Colleague role at Asda, Thornaby, United Kingdom. Employment type: Part time, Permanent. Hours per week: 20. Pay rate: £12.45. Closing Date: 11 October 2025. You must pass an enhanced safeguarding check. Our stores operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with varied shift patterns and weekend work is a requirement. You will be part of in-store Pharmacies that serve customers with warmth and friendliness and will discuss personal health issues, resolving customer problems and guiding them to the right products.
To start your pharmacy career with Asda you will complete an accredited course to become a qualified Medicine Counter Assistant within 6 months, and then progress to training as a Dispensing Assistant.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Pharmacist and support the delivery and effective record keeping of patient services (e.g., blood pressure checks, stop smoking schemes).
* Accurately assemble and process prescriptions.
* Promote awareness of extra services offered in Pharmacy (e.g., Prescription Collection Service, Medicines Use Reviews).
* Collect customers\' prescriptions from their doctor\'s surgery and bring them to the store for collection.
* Adhere to strict Standard Operating Procedures to meet customer expectations.
* Develop understanding of store processes and contribute to a high level of customer care.
* Participate in accredited training to progress from Medicine Counter Assistant to Dispensing Assistant.
