1:1 Teaching Assistant - Wilmslow (Behaviour Support- 4 days per week)

Academics is currently recruiting for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Reception/Year 1-aged pupil with behavioural needs at a small, friendly village primary school near Wilmslow 4 days per week. This is a rewarding but challenging role that requires someone who can build trust, set boundaries, and provide consistent, calm support throughout the school day.
The school is a small, close-knit setting at the heart of the local community, offering a warm, nurturing environment where staff are supportive and teamwork is valued. You'll be joining a collaborative and caring school team where your input will make a tangible difference.
What you'll be doing:
Providing 1:1 support to a Reception/Year 1 child with behavioural difficulties
Using patience and positive reinforcement to build a safe, supportive relationship
Supporting emotional regulation, routines, and transitions throughout the day
Liaising with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual behaviour strategies
Creating a calm, structured presence that helps the child engage with learning and peers
This role is ideal if you:
Have experience working with children with challenging behaviour or in SEN/SEMH settings
Can stay calm and consistent under pressure, even during difficult moments
Are passionate about early years and understand the importance of early intervention
Have worked as a TA, support worker, youth worker or in a similar child-centred role
Are ready to commit to a longer-term position to give this child the consistency they need

Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
Right to work in the UK
Relevant TA qualification is desirable but not essential
Strong experience supporting behaviour/SEN
