Role Purpose
To provide high‑quality teaching and classroom cover across Key Stages 1 and/or 2, ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of the class teacher.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver pre‑planned lessons in line with the national curriculum
* Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
* Manage classroom behaviour effectively in accordance with school policies
* Support pupils' learning, engagement, and wellbeing
* Adapt quickly to different school settings and routines
* Communicate effectively with school staff and provide feedback on pupil progress and conduct
* Complete any required marking or handover notes at the end of the day
Person Specification / Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Experience working within a primary school setting
* Strong classroom management skills
* Flexible, reliable, and professional approach
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff quickly
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable
* Experience across multiple year groups
* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
* Availability at short notice
