Mechanical Test Engineer Co-Op – DEKA (Manchester, NH)
DEKA Research and Development, housed in Manchester, NH, has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering Co-Op to work with the Test Engineering Team in a dynamic R&D environment. In this role you will work alongside a group of passionate engineers to create innovative solutions that truly make a difference.
DEKA offers Co-Ops for full time students (must be at least 18 years old). This position is preferably for a 6+ month rotation for the Spring semester starting in January and ending in June/July 2026.
How you will make an impact as a Mechanical Test Engineer Co-Op:
Responsibilities
* Work with a test engineering group testing medical products
* Designing test fixtures and process equipment
* Creating and executing test procedures and generating write-ups to summarize test method and results
* CAD work including solid modeling and drawings
* Support the test engineering group and accomplish tasks with minimal direction
Qualifications
* Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering program
* Mechanical aptitude and hands on mechanical experience (working on cars, fixing bicycles or FIRST robotics a plus)
* Solidworks (or other CAD program) experience
* Experience with Rapid Prototyping
* Experience with data acquisition and Python and/or MATLAB
* Knowledge of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics
* Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Must be detail-oriented
