The project: We are looking for an experienced Associate Project Director to join an ambitious programme of work on an occupied, central Westminster estate. The projects are at different stages of delivery from design through to construction and vary from full fabric refurbishment to infrastructure and MEP upgrades. The estate is highly secure and is home to a diverse mix of technical and non-technical stakeholders. The successful candidate will play a lead role delivering a major retrofit and refurbishment project in an existing building, the scope for which includes the provision of a theatre space, security upgrades and wholesale MEP renewal. The candidate will be required to deputise for the project director as and when required. You’ll be responsible for: Managing safe, high‑quality and compliant project delivery, championing wellbeing and inclusive culture. Overseeing end‑to‑end programme management, ensuring alignment with client vision and key milestones. Managing budgets responsibly, driving ethical, sustainable outcomes and shaping long‑term strategic direction. Developing and empower teams, fostering collaboration, innovation and best‑practice excellence across stakeholders. Managing end‑to‑end project delivery, ensuring timeframes, budgets and stakeholder expectations are met. Driving collaboration across client, consultant and contractor teams, managing senior stakeholders and project governance. Providing strategic expertise, continuous improvement and leadership to teams, aligning delivery with Mace’s strategic priorities. You’ll need to have: Ability to obtain security clearance within the client's organisation. Experience delivering projects in a live, sensitive environment. Experience delivering projects in listed buildings. Skilled communicator and negotiator, effective with stakeholders at all levels. Collaborative organised and able to train others while managing processes independently.
