Specialist Care Support Worker Southampton
We are currently looking for compassionate and reliable support workers to provide care for individuals within our Specialist Care service in Southampton area.
Our customers are looking for support in living fulfilling, independent lives and achieving their goals, and we need dedicated individuals who are passionate about making a difference.
This is a flexible full-time role, offering long day shifts, which may include weekdays and weekends.
Given the nature of the role, candidates must hold a full, valid, and clean driving licence.

About You
You are an experienced, empathetic, and resilient support worker, committed to supporting individuals with a variety of needs, including autism, learning disabilities, mental health, and complex physical needs. You are compassionate, observant, and confident, especially when handling challenging behaviour or sensitive situations. You are skilled in monitoring changes in mood, developing techniques to calm or de-escalate situations, and supporting individuals in a person-centred way.
You enjoy helping individuals maintain their independence, supporting them through daily tasks, and encouraging them to pursue their interests and hobbies. You take pride in your work, whether its assisting with cooking, domestic duties, personal care, attending appointments, or engaging in social activities. You are eager to develop your career through ongoing training, learning, and relevant qualifications.
You are comfortable with animals (in some cases, you may be supporting individuals with pets like dogs).
About The Role
As a member of our Specialist Care Support Team, you will make a positive difference in an individuals life, helping them to meet their social, physical, and emotional needs. You will support them in their daily routines, encourage them to pursue their passions, and ensure they are able to be part of the local community. This will be achieved through a professional, positive, and person-centred approach in line with the values of SCA Care.
No Two Days Are The Same And You May
* Assist individuals with daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, personal care, and attending appointments.
* Support customers to engage in their favourite activities, whether that be cooking, arts, gaming, music, dancing, or social outings.
* Promote independence, confidence, and emotional well-being, ensuring that each person is empowered to live a fulfilling life.
* Help customers achieve their personal goals and aspirations, participating in social, emotional, and cultural activities in a person-centred way.
* Be comfortable working in environments where pets, such as dogs, are present.
