If so - We are keen to hear from you!My client, a leading multinational defence company, are currently seeking a Deputy Electronics Design Authority to join the business in a permanent capacity, to take on the responsibility of oversight and support to design authorities of sub systems for an underwater weapon system. The role will provide you with the opportunity to join various complex development projects. You will see the full lifecycle and contribute through all phases.The role will be based out of my clients secure sites in Portsmouth and due to the secure nature of the product/project, will require you to attend site approx. 3 days a week.Due to the nature of my clients work, candidates must either hold a live SC Clearance or be willing and able to undergo the clearance process.What you’ll be doing:The role holder will undertake some or all of the following tasks :-Lead peer and design reviews of electrical and electronic sub-systemsSupport engineers in detailed electronic circuit design including component selection, evaluation, simulation, schematic capture, and liaising with PCB design teamsSupport engineers in the specification of bespoke procured hardwareDesign verification using a combination of simulation, analysis, and test techniques, including support to EMC test houses and customer installationsGenerate design documentation and technical reportsInterfacing with related disciplinesSupport system integration activitiesApply knowledge and technical skills together with general engineering experience to solve technical issues as they ariseEnsure that the design complies with all appropriate safety legislation and key customer requirementsProvide support to other areas of the project and ensure that the appropriate level of peer review activity is undertakenYour skills and experiences:The role holder will have a degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering or strongly related subject, and have experience in one or more of the following areas :Generating component level electronic designs for introduction into volume productionDigital design including processor interfacing, memory devices, PLD interfacing, UARTs, SPI, I2C, Ethernet etcADC/DAC devices and techniquesAnalogue design including op-amps, transistor-level design, control loops and low noise techniquesHigh power techniquesExperience of design proving activities to ensure compliance against environmental requirements including EMCGood appreciation of mechanical designSubstantial experience of design proving, integration, and defect resolutionSubstantial experience of gathering of evidence to support acceptance, fitness for purpose, legislative requirements, and safetyA rigorous approach to the safety aspects associated with high power/high voltage equipmentPrevious experience of operating in a defence or high safety integrity environment (preferred)Synergize Consulting is committed to equality and diversity in our workplace.
