The role
We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our in-house clinical team at Brookthorpe Hall School. You will deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent, or have SEMH needs. You will work within the standards provided in the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working, guide your practice in an education setting, and take responsibility for holding a Speech and Language therapy caseload with support from a designated clinical supervisor and site lead. You will also contribute to staff training and consultation as required. This post suits a resilient, creative, and enthusiastic individual.

Location
Brookthorpe Hall School, Gloucestershire – Brookthorpe Hall. The school forms part of the Options Autism brand and is an independent specialist day school for pupils aged 7-16.
Salary and hours
Salary up to £53,200 pro rata (dependent on experience). Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with hours to overlap core school hours. Part-time hours may be considered. Contract: Permanent (term time only, or flexibility around full-time contract can be discussed based on personal circumstances).
Essential criteria
* Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
* HCPC registered; 1-2 years experience as a fully registered member of the RCSLT working in a similar setting; experience with individuals with complex and diverse communication profiles
* Some knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice
* Experience of multi-disciplinary working in various settings
* Experience communicating with/working with families, relatives, and carers
* Interest in developing knowledge and skills across different SaLT practice areas
* Good relationship-building, analytical and judgmental skills
* Good oral and written communication, time management and organisational skills
* Competent in core areas of SaLT practice with understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
* Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools, intervention types, and ability to formulate support plans based on needs
* Knowledge of relevant legislation for clinical practice and professional management
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Willingness to attend training and pursue further qualifications relevant to the client group
Desirable
* Understanding of sensory and motor differences that may impact communication
* Evidence of understanding the relationship between arousal levels and communication
* Full driving license and access to a car (highly desirable)
