Job Summary The Impact Data & Measurement Analyst will support: The Impact Measurement Manager and Impact Data & Measurement Lead with the development of its impact measurement methodologies for our “ LCA ” impact areas, through research, collaboration with internal teams and expert organizations. The Impact Measurement Manager with the maintenance and revisions of the Textile Exchange Climate dashboards. This will involve environmental impact data manipulation and modelling. The LCA manager with the development and release of our lifecycle assessment studies for different fibers and materials. Internal colleagues by providing subject matter expertise on frameworks such as SBTN, GHG Protocol, soil carbon measurement for internal colleagues as well as relevant external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience working with impact data methodologies, including methodologies for nature-related impacts, an understanding of lifecycle assessments for the textile industry and reporting frameworks such as SBTN, GHG Protocol and TNFD. The candidate does not need to have worked on developing targets or methodologies for environmental impact progress tracking, however, exposure to this would be highly beneficial. Duties and Responsibilities Support environmental impact modelling, this includes GHG, water and biodiversity modelling related to Textile Exchange’s Climate strategy. Maintain regular Climate progress reporting, including maintenance of dashboards (with support from Data & Technology department). Support efforts to identify and integrate data sources that will be used for industry impact measurement (the “LCA equation”). This includes identifying and addressing the industry’s key impact data gaps for fibers and materials, in partnership with relevant organizations or Textile Exchange departments. Support the iteration and revisions to our Climate Biodiversity dashboard, this will be informed by our wider Nature Strategy work and will involve the use of spatial datasets and maps. Support the maintenance of Textile Exchange’s Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) Library and the development of Textile Exchange’s Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies. Support the ongoing development of the methodologies and data inputs for Textile Exchange’s Impact Tools: Materials Impact Explorer and the Fiber and Materials Matrix. Provide subject matter expertise into external working groups and organizations developing and evolving industry standards for target-setting; impact measurement methodologies; and impact accounting protocols, including Cascale’s Materials Sustainability Index (MSI), the GHG Protocol, Science-Based Targets for Nature, and emerging soil carbon measurement protocols. Ensure that you stay up to date on the landscape of impact data and methodologies relevant to fibers and materials, including industry best practices around impact accounting and measurement protocols. Help to connect/embed best practices into Textile Exchange’s programs and translate and share findings with the broader membership and industry. Minimum Experience and Qualifications 1-3 years previous experience, ideally in a role focused on impact data and/or measurement, (sustainability and/or apparel/fashion/textile industry connectivity preferred but not required). Intermediate modelling and analytics skills in Excel. Basic PowerPoint skills as a minimum. Strong problem solving and analytical skills, including the ability to break down complex problems to implementable solutions with attention to detail. Able to work independently in a virtual workplace. Self-motivated and strong work ethic. Proficient computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new systems. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote working structure. Well-organized and able to manage multiple priorities and varying pressures to meet deadlines as needed. Preferred Experience and Qualifications 1-3 years of direct experience in Life Cycle Assessment methodology preferred. Skills and/or experience using GIS software preferred. Experience working in the apparel/textile industry preferred but not required. Experience working with nature-related methodologies preferred but not required. Familiarity with Scope 3 (value chain) emissions accounting preferred but not required. Employment Package • Reports to: Manager, Impact Measurement • Full-Time Position, 40 Hours a Week • Location: Virtual/Remote • Annual Salary Range: $56,000 - $66,000 USD • To be filled as soon as possible (start date to be agreed between both parties). • Our salary structures are location-agnostic, ensuring equal pay for the same role, irrespective of location.
