Job summary
An exciting, new opportunity has arisen within the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Thoracic Surgery Research Department. The department is expanding, and we are seeking an enthusiastic, highly organized, and reliable Data Manager. The successful candidate will work across various studies within Thoracic Surgery and support the wider research team.
The role involves overseeing data entry for multiple studies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. A willingness to learn medical terminology and results is essential to accurately extract data. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in clinical research, be able to work independently within a dynamic team, and possess excellent communication and organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines.

Main duties of the job
1. Prepare and distribute agendas, attend meetings, take minutes, and distribute.
2. Manage diaries, arrange meetings including venue hire, catering, and equipment.
3. Receive, prioritize, and respond to incoming calls, emails, and other communications.
4. Collate information, design, and produce documents using various software such as flow charts, PowerPoint, and Excel.
