Deputy Headteacher – SEND School (KS2–KS4) – Autism & Associated Needs
A specialist SEND school is seeking an experienced and committed Deputy Headteacher to join its senior leadership team. The school supports pupils across Key Stages 2 to 4 with Autism and associated needs and provides a structured, nurturing and highly inclusive learning environment.
This is a pivotal leadership role and requires a Deputy Headteacher with previous senior leadership experience within a SEND setting. You will work closely with the Headteacher and wider leadership team to drive high standards, support staff, and ensure pupils receive the highest quality provision and care.
The Role:
1. Supporting the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the school
2. Leading and developing high-quality SEND provision across KS2–KS4
3. Supporting staff to deliver inclusive, high-impact teaching and learning
4. Monitoring standards, progress and outcomes for pupils with Autism and associated needs
5. Contributing to school improvement planning and quality assurance
6. Working closely with families, external professionals and local authorities
7. Playing a key role in safeguarding, behaviour, inclusion and wellbeing
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
8. Previous SLT experience in a SEND school or specialist setting
9. Strong knowledge and experience of Autism and associated needs
10. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
11. Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
12. The ability to support, challenge and inspire staff
13. A calm, reflective and solution-focused leadership approach
