External Contracts Manager (x2)
Join our Major Works Team as an External Contracts Manager responsible for overseeing fire safety and building safety major works across high-rise, mid-rise, and low-rise buildings. The role ensures compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the Building Safety Act 2022 while managing contracts, forecasting finances and procuring consultants.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage externally sourced contracts, ensuring they adhere to legal and regulatory frameworks.
* Lead critical projects to deliver quality, compliance and cost‑effective solutions.
* Conduct risk assessments, KPI implementation and site inspections to evaluate work quality and identify defects.
* Engage stakeholders and communicate with customers throughout the project lifecycle.
* Maintain financial forecasting and budget management.
Required Qualifications
* Experience in the construction industry in a similar position, managing contractors and consultants within major works projects.
* Strong understanding of fire and building safety regulations.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project management software.
* Experience in risk assessments, KPIs and compliance monitoring.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Preferred
* Currently or working towards chartered membership such as MCIOB.
* Project management qualification such as PMP or PRINCE2.
* Experience in social housing or public sector major works.
