TeacherActive are looking for an experienced and confident Club Manager to lead the day-to-day running of a busy and welcoming wraparound childcare setting. About the Role
As Club Manager, you will take full responsibility for the daily operation of the setting, ensuring children receive outstanding, inclusive and engaging play experiences within a safe and nurturing environment.
You will lead and support a team of deputies, playworkers, escorts and volunteers, ensuring everyone works in line with policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements. You will also build strong partnerships with parents, schools and external agencies.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the daily management of the club, including opening and closing the setting
Lead and motivate the staff team, delegating tasks and monitoring performance
Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
Maintain a safe, secure and stimulating environment for children aged 4–11
Manage registers, records and general administrative duties
Build positive relationships with parents, carers, schools and outside agencies
Ensure compliance with EYFS (where applicable), safeguarding, health & safety and food standards guidance
Support children’s individual needs, including SEND and emotional wellbeing
Manage behaviour in line with company policy
Oversee snack provision, resources and budget spending in line with company procedures
Conduct staff supervisions, inductions, appraisals and team meetings
Monitor risk assessments, fire drills, lockdown procedures and medication administration
Promote the club within the local community and support open evenings/events
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Holds a relevant Level 3 (or above) childcare qualification
Has experience working with children aged 4–11 years
Has previous supervisory or management experience within a childcare or play setting
Demonstrates strong leadership and organisational skills
Has a sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Has good knowledge of the EYFS and play-based learning
Is confident communicating with parents, staff and external professionals
Can work independently, using initiative and sound judgement
Desirable:
At least 2 years’ experience in a childcare environment
Paediatric First Aid (12-hour)
Safeguarding training
Food Hygiene certificate
Experience managing budgets and administrative systems
Full UK driving licence
