Systems Engineer – Portal Londrinatur

We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Engineering Delivery Manager (EDM) and bid/project team in designing, developing and delivering complex systems on‑time and on‑budget through robust systems engineering practices.
Primary Purpose of the Role
As part of the Thales Systems Engineering process you will work alongside Engineers, EDMs, Product Design Authorities, Programme and Project Managers, Supply Chain members, Commercial team members, Testing and Installation team, and Sales and Marketing to support the development of underwater sensor systems and decision‑superiority solutions for naval customers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
* Convert requirements into conceptual designs and prepare associated documentation through operational analyses, simulations and technical trade‑off studies.
* Write and execute Test Specifications, Plans and Strategy documents and maintain test execution records.
* Develop system and subsystem requirement specifications, interface requirements and test requirement documents.
* Perform technical/engineering tasks to define system design and subsystem requirements details, including modelling and refinement.
* Report work progress and estimates to complete work packages assigned by the line manager.
* Investigate problems in the field or with system documentation and maintain quality targets/standards.
* Develop, implement and maintain tools relevant to the Systems Engineering function.
* Produce quality metrics to measure the soundness of Systems Engineering and support EDM in reporting progress.
* Represent Systems Engineering at formal design reviews, focusing on risk reduction.
* Collaborate with project planners to provide detailed input to specific project programmes.
* Maintain continuous professional growth through regular check‑ins and development discussions.

Experience and Qualifications
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.
* Proven record of working in a Systems Engineering environment.
* Must be eligible for SC clearance and a sole UK national (UK Eyes Only programme).
* Professional status of CEng or equivalent preferred.
* HNC/HND/Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent (desirable).
* Experience with DOORS, Polarion, MBSE and configuration management.
* Knowledge of engineering safety management and project plans.
