Job Overview:
The HSES Tech completes various HSES assignments as needed and can complete work with limited supervision. They can provide solutions to problems in atypical or infrequently occurring situations based on existing precedents or procedures.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Serve as a resource to develop and administer a proactive prevention program for incidents
2. Provide technical assistance to ensure compliance with applicable international, federal, state, and company environmental, safety, and health regulations
3. Implement the HSES Activity plan and ensure activities are completed as scheduled
4. Assist in the preparation of HSES Statistics Reports
5. Conduct HSES inspections as directed
6. Assist in the preparation and maintenance of HSES information
7. Regularly inspect the work areas to identify unsafe acts or conditions
8. Assist with incident investigations and compilation of reports
9. Update and maintain HSES database/platform
10. Assist with medical evacuations and respond to emergencies as required
11. Observe work groups and provide guidance and coaching to personnel to perform work safely
12. Assist in the delivery and observation of toolbox talks and Job Safety Analyses
13. Observe the condition of plant and equipment and report deficiencies
Essential Qualifications and Education:
14. Diploma or equivalent certification
15. 3-4 years of relevant experience
16. Good oral and written communication skills
17. Conversant with local and international HSES laws, codes, and regulations
18. Good interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain positive team relationships
19. Have experience with technical activities
20. Maintain key competencies associated with the HSES function
21. Communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken
