We are recruiting a Maintenance Engineer to lead and conduct all maintenance activity for a luxury holiday cottage complex in the beautiful South Devon countryside.

Salary & Benefits
Up to £25,000 depending on experience
32-hour contract 4 day working week, 2 flexible but must include Friday and Saturday
5.5 weeks holiday entitlement

The Role
As Maintenance Person, youll take the lead in the self-managing role, overseeing all aspects of maintenance across the complex and tasks will include but not be limited to:
Your responsibilities will include:
Domestic and commercial maintenance activities, including repair skills for fixtures, fittings and domestic appliances.
Redecoration and general maintenance projects.
Periodic window cleaning.
Ad hoc BBQ cleaning in the summer.
Swimming pool maintenance and dosing full training and qualifications if required will be provided for this.
Periodic biomass boiler cleaning.
Many aspects of the day-to-day running of a holiday complex.
Animal feeding and tending when the grounds keeper is away but will include every Saturday
Project management and planning of winter renovation and renewals. There is an annual maintenance period from the beginning of Jan to mid Feb when the site is closed to guests.
Involving Use of the following equipment:
Fully equipped workshops with tools, power tools, paints/brushes, pressure washers etc.
Kioti All-Terrain Vehicle.
The Candidate
Were looking for a self-motivated maintenance person, who is equally happy working alone as in a team. Experience and skills will ideally include the following, but flexibility and training can be given:
Highly organised, tidy and punctual.
Good organisation and people management skills
Ideally, engineering skills and some knowledge of building work and carpentry
Painting and decorating skills, and the ability to paint accurately with attention to detail
Very competent at repairing and fixing things that go wrong in a typical home, from domestic appliances to heating systems and water pipes, swapping taps, fixing plumbing problems etc
Sociable and able to work with others and liaise with guests from time to time.
Experience with power tools, saws and typical tools used to maintenance tasks
Experience with grounds keeping equipment would be beneficial lawnmowers, hedge cutters and preferably some chainsaw experience
Mechanical knowledge of 2 stroke and 4 stroke engines, carbs and servicing would be helpful
