Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Therapy Assistant to join the Hyperacute Rehabilitation Therapy Team at the John Radcliffe.

The successful candidate will work alongside Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech & Language therapists and other Therapy Assistants to deliver high quality patient centred care. The post involves working with patients who require intensive rehabilitation and you will be expected to support your senior colleagues to provide intervention for individuals to promote recovery, rehabilitation and discharge.

In addition to the clinical elements of this role, the post also involves supporting the therapy team with general administrative duties .

As a member of the team, you will have the opportunity to:

· Work with and receive support from other therapy colleagues · Receive clinical supervision from registered therapists

· Annual Values Based Appraisal · Protected CPD time

· Participate in the departmental in-service training programme

· Enrolment onto the OUH Care Certificate programme in your first year

· Contribute to the development of the service

Main duties of the job

Job Statement

This position offers the opportunity to work full or part time as a Therapy Assistant within the hyperacute rehabilitation therapy service at the John Radcliffe hospital. Supporting the team to provide programmes of therapeutic activity for patients primarily in the Neuroscience ward. This will include implementing basic therapy assessments and rehabilitation whilst maintaining records .

The post holder will be expected to work as an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team and senior support will ensure they receive regular continued professional development and opportunities to further expand skills and knowledge.
