The Senior HSE Advisor will be responsible for the provision of timely advice and guidance on all matters pertaining to Health, Safety and the Environment with respect to Legislation, Company Policy and Management System and Client requirements, thereby ensuring business risks are prevented and mitigated.
May also have a direct responsibility for other HSE Advisors, as Mentor/trainer, within the Business Unit or Department.
1. Developing annual HSE improvement plans in line with Company and Client strategic and business unit objectives
2. Managing the project HSE interface requirements; ensuring compliance with all existing interface documents and in the development of future plans
3. Ensuring the requirements stipulated in HSE interface documents/plans are communicated to all relevant personnel
4. Managing HSE incident investigations and undertaking the appropriate reporting requirements
5. Assist in coordinating internal and external audits
6. Communicating the important messages from incidents and accidents as a part of the Lessons learned process to all relevant parties
7. Promoting and communicating lessons learned from within their own project; reporting deficiencies within project and corporate functions and recording all reportable issues within HSE systems
8. Ensuring the project emergency response arrangements are in place and are communicated to all personnel; ensuring that project requirements align with Client requirements if these take precedence
9. Liaising with and building relationship with Client HSE Reps and offshore/site Safety Reps as required
10. Managing attendance and participation at project HSE meetings, workshops and forums
11. Maintaining a system for monitoring HSE performance
12. Developing an offshore/site HSE visit programme for both self and for project/contract management and for Corporate HSE management
13. Promoting workforce involvement in all HSE activities, initiatives and programmes
Qualifications:
14. C&G, ONC/HNC or equivalent in Technical, HSE or related industry
15. NEBOSH Certificate
16. NVQ Level 4 IOSH (desirable)
Knowledge, skills and experience:
17. Willingness to travel offshore as and when required
18. Knowledge of Fab shop HSE would be beneficial
19. Good experience gained in a technical role, or association with HSE role
20. Good planning and organisational skills
21. Effective/competent MS Office Suite User
22. High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format
