About the Duty Service
The Duty Service is looking for permanent Social Workers and fixed‑term Social Workers (minimum 12 month contract). The Duty Teams structure consists of 4 Duty teams, each with 6 Social Workers, one Assistant Team Manager and one Team Manager.
Duty workers receive referrals screened in MASH and work closely with MASH colleagues to ensure timely responses for children and young people who are at significant risk or require assessment of need due to serious concerns for their wellbeing.
Responsibilities
* Receive and screen referrals from MASH.
* Conduct timely assessments to a high standard and develop care plans for children.
* Work in partnership with a range of professionals.
* Lead and chair meetings, conduct Section 47 investigations, manage children under child‑in‑need plans or child protection plans.
* Support the Head of Service in developing practice and learning opportunities.
Qualifications
* Degree in social work.
* Excellent knowledge of safeguarding, legislation, guidance and practice.
