Overview
Beacon House is a supported housing service in Kensington & Chelsea for single homeless people aged 16-25. Beacon House contains 16 self-contained rooms. The service is conveniently located, with Gloucester Road Station a 5-minute walk away and many bus stops within 10 minutes, covering multiple bus routes. Working hours: 37.5 hours per week (rolling rota - 8 hour shifts between 07:00 and 22:00). Closing Date: Sunday, 28 September 2025. We have an opportunity for a Support Worker to join our supported housing service to provide person-centred support to our young people, building on their life skills, aspirations and independence.
Responsibilities
* Provide person-centred support to our young people, building on their life skills, aspirations and independence.
* Monitor health and safety, remaining flexible and able to adapt in new situations.
* Support a caseload of at least 5 customers to identify their strengths as part of our asset-based approach and identify their needs, opportunities, rights, and responsibilities to enable them to move onto independent living.
* Plan and set targets to achieve and take appropriate action to meet their goals and aspirations.
* Take part in activities and provide opportunities that generate aspiration and confidence.
* Provide weekly keywork sessions to customers on the caseload focused on their current circumstances and working towards better outcomes.
* Enable our customers to gain the necessary support from other agencies and therefore network/build relationships with those in orientation, gender identity, age, or disability.
* Work on a pre-planned rolling rota - 5/7 days a week including mornings (from 7am) and evenings (to 10pm), with mid shifts and weekends.
* Maintain good safeguarding practices and understand how safeguarding applies in day-to-day work.
Qualifications & Experience
* Some experience of working with and supporting people who have experienced homelessness to achieve a level of independent living.
* Ability to network/build relationships with other agencies to enable customers to gain necessary support.
* You will need to have the correct right to work in the UK in place, as Evolve does not have a sponsorship license.
