Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 16:30

About the Role
A well-established manufacturing business is seeking a Production Manager to oversee its Package Moulding department. This role is critical in ensuring production runs efficiently, customer orders are met, and quality standards remain consistently high.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of around 15 staff, overseeing production planning, tool changes, stock control, and cycle times, while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental measures.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management
Oversee day-to-day running of the Package Moulding department
Plan production to meet customer orders and maintain optimum stock levels
Manage warehouse space and seasonal staffing levels
Carry out tool changes when required and ensure regular tool maintenance
Monitor cycle times to maximise efficiency of machines and staff
Ensure all products meet required specifications and quality standards
Lead, develop, and manage staff, including training and HR matters
Stock & Budget Control
Manage stock levels and complete monthly stock counts
Monitor staff costs, overtime, and shift requirements across the year
Identify downtime and implement measures to increase productivity
Investigate quality issues and reduce product returns
Additional Duties
Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and environmental standards
Undertake any additional duties as directed by senior management
Candidate Requirements
Essential Experience
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
Proven managerial experience (team management of c.10–20 staff ideal)
Working knowledge of ISO standards or similar
IT literacy (Microsoft Office essential; Sage desirable)
Qualifications
Minimum GCSE English & Maths (Grade C or above)
Further study in manufacturing/production management (preferred)
