Job overview
We are looking to recruit Newly Qualified Operating Department Practitioners to join our Anaesthetic team in Main Theatres. We support newly qualified practitioners with an in-house induction and excellent preceptorship. We offer in-house and external training to support your professional development.
Our environment is supportive, exciting, and challenging, with a flexible supernumerary period for new starters. We are committed to staff training and development, supported by a Practice Development Facilitator. You will have a rotational plan to ensure competence in your specialty.
Our Main Theatre Suite includes nine theatres and a Recovery Unit, covering various surgical specialties including advanced laparoscopic surgery.
We also provide anaesthetic assistance in areas such as CT, MRI, Emergency Department, and transfers, and participate in resuscitation teams.
The successful candidates are expected to participate in a rota providing 24-hour care, including weekends and public holidays.
Main duties
Support the perioperative team by providing skilled assistance in Anaesthetics as a registered practitioner.
This role involves access to vulnerable adults and/or children, requiring an Enhanced DBS Check.
Applicants must be registered ODPs or nurses with an approved UK anaesthetic qualification, or nearing qualification as a student ODP.
Participation in a 24-hour rota, including weekends and holidays, is expected.

Person specification
Education/Qualification
* Registered Operating Department Practitioner or nurse with UK approved anaesthetic qualification.
* Member of a Professional Body.
* For RN – ENB 176/183/182/HDU/Critical Care, Teaching qualification e.g., ENB 998, Mentorship Programme, C&G 730.
Experience
* Knowledge of theatre skills and processes, or a commitment to develop them.
* Experience in various theatre specialties.
Knowledge / Experience
* Flexible attitude.
* Excellent team skills.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* IT literacy.
