An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quality Technologist to play a pivotal role in protecting quality, strengthening supplier performance, and ensuring customers consistently receive outstanding product standards.
This is a high-impact, hands-on technical role focused on driving quality improvements across growers and packhouses, with a year-round emphasis on blueberries. The successful candidate will be the vital link between suppliers, pack operations, and internal teams—ensuring compliance, reducing claims, and influencing commercial decisions through strong technical insight.
The Role
The Senior Quality Technologist will:
1. Audit supplier sites and packhouse systems, delivering clear feedback and managing corrective action plans
2. Proactively monitor fruit quality through site visits, data analysis, and trend reporting
3. Minimise customer complaints and reduce supplier claims
4. Provide technical guidance to growers and packhouses to ensure compliance with legislative and customer standards
5. Support indirect management of third-party post-harvest teams
6. Collaborate closely with internal departments to align quality objectives with commercial strategy
7. Build strong working relationships with customer technical managers and respond confidently to technical queries
8. Assist in complex quality-related decision making during peak seasonal periods

9. You MUST have a strong background in Berries (pre & post-harvest)
10. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with the confidence to challenge constructively
11. Experience auditing suppliers and interpreting technical standards
12. Excellent organisation and time management, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
13. Decisive, resilient, and comfortable working under pressure
14. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
15. Flexibility to travel across the UK and internationally, including weekend work during peak seasons
