The Opportunity
We’re looking for a driven and experienced individual to lead a growing assembly team of around 10 people within a well-established manufacturing business.
You’ll be responsible for overseeing the assembly of high-quality, precision-engineered products used across multiple industries.
As Assembly Team Manager, you’ll report directly to the Production Manager and act as their deputy when required. You’ll play a key role in driving safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the department as the company enters an exciting new phase of growth and investment.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Leading and motivating the team to meet production targets, ensuring products are built safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
* Driving 5S and continuous improvement initiatives, embedding best practice across the shop floor.
* Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental policies.
* Monitoring production KPIs such as OTIF, scrap/rework rates, and team performance metrics.
* Supporting resource planning, labour scheduling, and process improvements to maximise productivity.
* Coaching and developing team members through 1:1s, training, and annual reviews.
* Supporting change management, new equipment implementation, and process optimisation.
* Acting up as Production Manager when required, ensuring smooth day-to-day operation.
About You
You’ll be an experienced manufacturing or assembly professional, with proven leadership or supervisory experience. You’ll bring:
* A strong understanding of production processes, workflow management, and quality standards.
* A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Working knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, ideally with an IOSH Managing Safely certificate.
* Demonstrated experience implementing or supporting Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement initiatives.
* Competence in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
* The ability to motivate teams, manage change, and maintain a positive, productive working environment.

* Competitive salary - circa £35,000 - £40,000 (negotiable for the right experience)
