Overview

End of Life Care Clinical Educator

Closing date: 18 September 2025

An exciting opportunity to join an established, dynamic End of Life Care Team delivering a comprehensive education programme to meet the needs of our healthcare workforce. Acting as an educational resource, mentor and role-model, working alongside our clinical teams. Providing professional leadership advice and support, fostering a learning culture which values high quality patient care.


Main duties

* Delivery of Palliative and EOLC training and education through a variety of methods including formal presentations to large groups of staff.
* Excellent communications skills are essential, making use of all available methods of communication to build and develop effective communication networks and processes both within the specialist area, the Trust and external organisations.
* Supporting the implementation of change and the development of the service within the specialist area of practice, leading staff and facilitating the change process whilst encouraging others to be innovative and adaptable in their approach to change.
* Auditing of EOLC initiatives at a local and national level.
* Working in collaboration with other key stakeholders including internal and external clinical educators, the ICB, community healthcare team and hospice development team in ongoing development of local strategy.

Person Specification


Experience

* Experience of mentoring/supervising learners
* Experience of delivering teaching sessions to a variety of audiences in different environments
* Experience and understanding of using audit and research to influence practice
* Experience of implementing change in practice through the provision of training, education and staff engagement.
* Teaching Role
* Attended Advanced Communication Skills Training


Qualification

* Registered Nurse with substantial post registration experience in relevant clinical area, including delivery of palliative and end of life care
* Teaching Qualification or working towards


Competence

* IT literate with experience of using Microsoft Office programmes, MS Teams and interactive teaching software
