Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Specialty/SAS/Trainee psychiatric Doctor to work within our multidisciplinary Hillingdon Perinatal mental health team, with support of a consultant psychiatrist specialist in perinatal. This role offers the opportunity to develop and improve knowledge and skills working with women and families in the perinatal period.
Responsibilities
* Conduct mental health assessment and review of patients experiencing mental health problems in our perinatal services.
* Collaborate with a medical team consisting of a Consultant Psychiatrist and a Psychiatry Core Trainee.
* Support supervision of non‑medical prescriber and contribute to other clinical duties, including writing discharge summaries.
* Provide expertise within the department, upholding professional standards at all times, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications
* Education and Qualifications (Essential) Medical degree; MB BS or equivalent.
* Essential Clinical Experience Completed at least four years full‑time postgraduate training, with at least two years in a relevant specialty training programme or equivalent; extensive experience managing a broad range of mental disorders in older adults.
* Essential Skills and Knowledge Ability to treat service users with respect and dignity at all times, adopting a culturally approach; ability to work effectively in a team; person‑centred approach; competence to provide medical and mental health assessments, formulate diagnoses, initiate treatment plans; basic IT skills; excellent communication skills; up‑to‑date knowledge of recent DH documentation and NICE guidelines; experience in teaching junior doctors and audit.

Grade: Specialty Doctor
Pay scheme: Hospital medical and dental staff
Salary: £61,542 to £99,216 a year plus £2,162 London weighting allowance, per annum pro rata
Contract: Fixed term, 12 months
