Sustainability Consultant : Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
Location: London (Hybrid)
Salary: GBP50,000 : GBP60,000
A well:established building services and sustainability consultancy is looking for a Sustainability Consultant with expertise in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to join their growing London team. This hybrid role offers a mix of remote and office:based work, supporting a wide range of commercial, residential, and mixed:use developments.
The Role
As a key member of the sustainability team, youll deliver high:quality advice across all project stages, with a focus on:
* Whole life carbon assessments
* Circular economy strategies
* Low:carbon material performance
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct LCAs using tools such as OneClick LCA or eTool, following LETI, RICS, and GLA guidance.
* Deliver whole life carbon (WLC) assessments for both new and retrofit developments.
* Develop circular economy and low:carbon materials strategies.
* Prepare sustainability statements and carbon reports for planning submissions.
* Work alongside engineers, architects, and project managers to embed sustainable practices into design and construction.
* Monitor updates in sustainability policy, particularly across the UK and London.
* Communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non:technical audiences.
* Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and thought leadership in sustainable design.
Your Profile:
* Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.
* Proven experience delivering LCAs in the built environment.
* Skilled in LCA tools such as OneClick LCA, eTool, or similar.
* Good understanding of UK sustainability policy (GLA, LETI, RIBA 2030, UKGBC).
* Experience in a consultancy setting (preferably building services or sustainability).
* Strong report writing and analytical skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of certification schemes (e.g., BREEAM, NABERS UK, Passivhaus).
* Experience with embodied carbon optioneering or materials databases.
* Working towards or holding chartership (e.g., CIBSE, IEMA).
