The Defence College for Military Capability Integration (DCMCI) is one of the key operating units of the Defence Academy (DefAc). DCMCI trains the UKs Armed Forces as well as Civil Servants, International Allies and Industry Partners, focusing on the ‘technological edge’, leveraging the technology and information necessary to thrive in an increasingly interconnected, complex and ambiguous strategic and operating environment.
This role is within the Defence Capability Management School (DCMS) within DCMCI. The purpose of the role is to deliver training and education interventions whilst contributing to continuous development of the course portfolio within your areas of responsibility. All training interventions are to be Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) compliant and delivered in accordance with the Management of Training and Education System (MTES).
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week and located at the Defence Academy of the UK, Shrivenham. The role is suitable for a mix of home and office working, which currently expects 60% of the working week onsite at Shrivenham.
Main responsibilities of the role are:
* Deliver training interventions as lead trainer or support trainer to a standard better than 3.5 average as recorded on the delegate feedback forms.
* Assist in the development and upkeep of training packages (Including Defence Learning Environment [DLE]) as required by the organisation, using a variety of techniques to reinforce key learning objectives.
* Design and develop various training materials and support Training Needs Analysis (TNA) as and when required by the organisation, ensuring alignment to Defence Academy policy and processes.
* Provide advice to the organisation and customer on new approaches to training and innovative techniques.
* Work closely and proactively with Sponsors, Training Requirements Authorities (TRAs) and Communities of Practice in order to keep abreast of change in order to maintain the quality of interventions for which you are responsible.
* Be proactive and work closely with other training colleagues to keep abreast of training and development issues, practices, developments and requirements in the business.
* Lead in the delivery and development of tasks as requested by your Training Manager and/or organisation.
* Act as the focal point for the delivery of the training and education interventions for which you are responsible and be prepared to deliver other courses within the portfolio.
* Collate and analyse student feedback for all formal training and education interventions for which you are responsible, to maintain and conduct continuous quality improvement.
* Ensure course materials are properly version controlled and using the latest templates.
Person specification
* Confident presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and maximise resources.
* Hold a driving licence and be willing to travel to deliver training on other sites.
