Overview

Highbury Hospital has exciting vacancies in the role of Peer Support Worker. Roles are available on Rowan 1 and Redwood 1 (male), Redwood 2 (female) and Willows (male PICU).


Responsibilities

* Use lived experience to offer understanding and support in linking with appropriate services/agencies.
* Promote choice and inspire hope and future opportunities for inpatients.
* Act as a recovery champion within the team and as an ambassador of recovery for the Trust with external agencies and partner organisations.
* Invest in personal and professional development and support ongoing development of peer roles in the Trust.
* Support carers (including friends and relatives) and their supporters in the community by enabling and assisting them to meet daily health, social care and well-being needs, in line with support plans and facilitating engagement with mainstream services.
* Work under the supervision of the Team Manager.
* Work as part of the multidisciplinary inpatient team, offering support to people admitted onto the ward.

* Roles are to be carried out in accordance with Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust policies and procedures; it is the post holder’s responsibility to keep up to date with these documents.


Qualifications and visa information

* Please note this post does not meet the skill level required for a Skilled Worker visa.
* Applicants requiring a Skilled Worker visa will usually need a Band 3 role or above; sponsorship depends on the specific role and criteria. See GOV.UK immigration guidance for details.
* DBS check cost: £26.40 standard or £54.40 enhanced; costs are deducted from salary over the first two months. DBS Update Service is available for an annual fee of £16.
* All applicants are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service where applicable.
