Role Summary
The main objective of this role is to support the store management team in creating an environment that fosters creativity, employee development and aligns with the Urban Outfitters “VIBE” philosophy, upholding the “Peers Training Peers” culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Recruit, motivate, develop and lead a high‑performing team.
* Manage performance development: performance appraisals, individual development plans, coaching, counselling and disciplinary actions.
* Recognise and develop talented individuals for advancement within the organisation.
* Uphold company standards and act as a positive role model.
* Model teamwork, inspire, motivate and encourage collaboration.
* Conduct productive daily meetings to ensure goals are met.
* Effectively delegate projects while empowering team members to make decisions.
* Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Oversee customer service, setting daily goals and ensuring a positive store environment.
* Train and coach store team on customer service, standards, product placement and time management.
* Maintain company‑average mystery shop results by upholding service standards.
* Execute store‑level operational procedures accurately and timely.
* Achieve stock loss goals by enforcing loss prevention practices.
* Support Health & Safety regulations to protect employees and customers.
* Collaborate with Department Manager or Visual Merchandising Manager on training, shipment placement, markdowns, transfers, merchandising and store standards.
* Understand and interpret local fashion trends to generate creative solutions.
* Ensure floor sets for the department are well organised and scheduled.
* Maximise departmental sales through analytical and creative merchandise management.
* Utilise company reports to react to trends and drive business.
* Maintain stock levels using relevant reports and market trends.
* Demonstrate entrepreneurial skills to exceed store targets.
Requirements
* Experience in a management role within a fast‑paced, high‑volume fashion retail environment.
* Strong operational skills.
* Understanding of the Urban Outfitters culture and its appeal to the local market.
* Ability to drive sales through excellent service, strong visual presentation, and comprehensive business understanding.
