OCU Group is looking for an experienced Streetworks Coordinator to Join the team in Borehamwood to work on the Openreach project. As a Streetworks Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating streetworks activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitating efficient project execution. You will liaise with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth coordination of works and minimize disruption to road users and residents. What you can expect from the role: Coordinate streetworks activities, including roadworks, excavations, installations, and repairs, in accordance with statutory requirements, permits, and regulations (e.g., NRSWA, TMA). Liaise with local authorities, utilities companies, contractors, and other stakeholders to obtain necessary permits, approvals, and permissions for streetworks operations. Schedule and plan streetworks activities, allocating resources, equipment, and personnel to meet project requirements and deadlines. Maintain accurate records of permit applications, approvals, rejections, and modifications, and track the status of permits throughout the duration of works. Coordinate with contractors and supervisors to ensure timely submission of permit applications and adherence to permit conditions during works. Coordinate traffic management arrangements, including temporary road closures, lane closures, and diversions, in collaboration with traffic management companies and regulatory authorities. Ensure compliance with traffic management plans, safety measures, and signage requirements to minimize disruption to road users, pedestrians, and residents. Monitor streetworks sites for compliance with health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and safe working practices, and take corrective actions as necessary. Communicate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to provide updates on streetworks activities, project progress, and potential impacts on local communities. Respond to inquiries, complaints, and requests for information from stakeholders regarding streetworks operations, providing accurate and timely updates and resolutions. Coordinate with local residents, businesses, and community groups to minimize disruption, address concerns, and provide information about planned works and schedules. To be successful in the role you will need to have proven experience in the following: Relevant experience in streetworks coordination, highway maintenance, or project management, preferably in the construction or utilities sector. Strong understanding of streetworks legislation, regulations, and codes of practice, including NRSWA, TMA, and associated guidance documents. Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in project management software, GIS tools, and Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook). Knowledge of traffic management principles, safety regulations, and environmental considerations related to streetworks operations. Ability to work well under pressure, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Valid driving license and willingness to travel to project sites and attend meetings as required.
