The Role
As the IT Operations Manager, you will lead, manage, and develop the IT function to ensure the organisation’s technology environment remains secure, efficient, and resilient. You will take ownership of day-to-day IT operations, oversee the maintenance and continual improvement of our infrastructure, and provide clear strategic direction for cloud, networking, and cybersecurity initiatives. In this senior role, you will act as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues while offering strong leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the IT team. You will drive operational excellence, embed best practices, and ensure the IT function effectively supports the organisation’s goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee all IT operations across five offices, ensuring reliability, security, and service continuity.
* Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, and procurement processes.
* Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and documentation to keep a high standard of service delivery.
* Report regularly to senior leadership on system performance, projects, and risks.
* Own and optimise Sedulo’s Azure environment, including Virtual Machines, Azure Virtual Desktop, App Services, and hybrid domain services.
* Ensure robust Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) and Intune configuration for identity, access, and device management.
* Collaborate with senior engineers to keep and evolve the cloud infrastructure in line with business goals.
* Supervise the management of SQL back-end systems, Azure App Services, and containerised environments.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
* Extensive experience in IT infrastructure and operations roles, including experience in a managerial or leadership capacity.
* Deep understanding of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and Entra ID (Azure AD) ecosystems.
* Experience with Fortinet network devices (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP).
* Strong grasp of cybersecurity principles, compliance frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, GDPR), and business continuity practices.
* Ability with PowerShell and exposure to Graph API for automation.
* Demonstrated experience managing hybrid environments with Azure and legacy on-prem systems.
* Proven ability to manage budgets, vendors, and IT contracts.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
