Bar Manager – Wootton Wawen
£16.00 per hour – 8 hour shifts 5pm – 12am and 1am on Friday, Saturdays & Bank holidays.
Flexible hours for weekday ordering, team meetings and cleaning duties.
Due to the rural location and working hours you MUST be a car driver with your own transport to apply.
AskVerity is proud to be working with a stunning wedding and events venue in Wootton Wawen, just outside Henley in Arden. With over 100 weddings plus other events throughout the season, the venue is a fast-paced and constantly evolving business. We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate to deliver excellent customer service and assist with the overall functioning and operation of the venue.
The ideal candidate should hold a Personal Licence for the sale of alcohol or be willing to obtain the licence (DBS check required). You should be experienced in handling party guests who have been drinking, bar work, liaising with suppliers at the event and managing event staff on the shift.
You need to be able to demonstrate that you are a great team player, as well as being able to work unsupervised during busy times and evenings.
Key Responsibilities: -
* Opening and closing the bar and venue for functions.
* Challenge 25 customer ID checks.
* Preventing customers bringing in alcohol and drugs.
* Staff management during the event.
* Restocking the bar.
* Operating the bar during events.
* Ensure all customers safely leave the site.
* Bar clean down and locking up the venue at the end of the function.
* Stock management and ordering
* Pump Room Maintenance and management
* Health and Safety Checks
* Train New Starters
* General Facilities Maintenance
* Customer Service Management during the event.
Experience and Skills Required: -
You must be willing to work the following shifts: -
5pm to 12am Sunday to Thursday and 1am Friday, Saturdays & bank holiday Sundays. Up to five shifts per week, which can be every day except Tuesdays and Thursdays, during the main wedding season April to October.
* Hold a Personal Licence for the sale of alcohol.
* Hold a SIA Door Supervisor qualification.
* Great team player with the ability to work unsupervised.
* Experienced in handling party guests who have been drinking.
* Experience of bar work.
* Exceptional communication skills.
* Reliable and trustworthy.
* Ability to work well under pressure.
