Job overview

Applications are invited from individuals with experience of working in research governance and a sound knowledge of clinical research management to join the Joint Research Management Office (JRMO). The JRMO is a joint office which manages clinical research on behalf of Barts Health NHS Trust and Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). This is a very busy department within the JRMO, working with our researchers to ensure the research management and governance objectives of both organisations are met.

The post is based at the Joint Research Management Office, Dept. W, Mile End Road, with current onsite attendance requirement of 2 days per week (subject to change).

Main duties of the job

The post holder will act as a facilitator in the set up and review of research studies sponsored and hosted by Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) or Barts Health NHS Trust (BH). This will include providing expert research governance advice to QMUL/BH researchers and JRMO staff as well as completing sponsorship reviews for studies sponsored by either organisation.

The post holder will ensure studies meet regulatory requirements and other obligations as Sponsor. The post-holder will be required to work autonomously and will be required to manage their day-to-day workload, prioritising as needed. The Senior Research Management and Governance Officer will line manage and support the Research Management and Governance Officers (including Research Governance Assistant, as applicable) and deputise for them in their absence.
