Are you a poultry farmer or layers specialist with real hands-on experience on farm?
Do you understand flock performance, nutrition, and the day-to-day pressures producers face - and want to use that knowledge in a role where you’re out on farms helping producers improve results?
I’m supporting a well-established feed & nutrition business that is expanding its layers team across England & Wales. They’re looking for someone who genuinely knows layers, not someone who can just “sell feed,” but someone farmers will trust for practical advice.
This is a specialist advisory role, not a transactional sales job.
What the role looks like
* Working directly with commercial egg producers across England & Wales
* Visiting farms, discussing flock challenges, and offering tailored nutritional and performance advice
* Using your knowledge to help producers improve margin, bird health, and egg output
* Managing around existing producers while also building a small number of new long-term accounts
* Being a trusted point of contact for feed decisions, flock performance reviews, and technical support
* Working closely with technical teams and nutritionists to deliver best-in-class support
* Using performance data (Eggnomics or similar) to show producers where improvements can be made
* Representing the business at industry events, producer meetings, and on-farm reviews
This is ideal for someone who enjoys being on farm, problem-solving with producers, and building long-term relationships.
Who this suits
You’ll be a strong fit if you have hands-on layers experience, ideally one or more of the following:
* Worked on a commercial layers farm (enriched, colony, free-range, organic, etc.)
* Managed or supervised flocks
* Worked as a farm manager, assistant manager, or layers unit lead
* Worked in poultry nutrition, production, or technical advisory roles
* Have experience in performance optimisation, diets, hen health, or improving laying systems
* Currently in a commercial or on-farm role but want something more consultative and long-term
If you understand how decisions on nutrition, management, lighting, or flock behaviour impact production - this role will value that knowledge.
Requirements
* Deep understanding of layers, flock management, and the realities of commercial egg production
* Good communication skills and the ability to build trust with producers
* Willingness to travel across England & Wales, with some overnight stays
* Full UK driving licence
* Commercial mindset (training given if coming direct from farm)
Why people join this business
* You get to step up from hands-on farm work into a more advisory, strategic role
* You’re respected as a technical specialist, not just a salesperson
* You work with producers who value practical knowledge
* The business has strong backing and an excellent reputation for service, technical support, and feed quality
* They offer full training, ongoing development, and the chance to shape their growth in England & Wales
