About the Opportunity
Astro Education is currently recruiting a dedicated
SEN Teaching Assistant
to support a primary school in
Winsford
on a long-term basis. This role involves supporting
two pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
within a classroom setting. The pupils are based in class, and the school is looking for someone who can provide consistent, calm and structured support to help them engage with learning during afternoon sessions. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and inclusive school environment.
The Role
Provide
2:1 support
for pupils with SEMH needs within the classroom Support pupils with emotional regulation and engagement in lessons Work closely with the class teacher to implement support strategies Help maintain a positive, safe and structured learning environment Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff
Requirements
Experience working with children or young people with
SEMH or behavioural needs A patient, resilient and empathetic approach Strong behaviour management skills Ability to build positive relationships and act as a consistent role model Experience in education, care, youth work, or similar settings is desirable Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) Eligibility to work in the UK
