Head of Operations – Renewable Energy
Location: North East Scotland
Employment: Full-Time – Senior Leadership Position
Salary: Up to £85,000 – Negotiable for the right candidate

We are working with a well‑established privately owned business within the renewable energy sector that is seeking to appoint an experienced and commercially focused Head of Operations to oversee multiple operational energy sites across the Northeast of Scotland.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a driven operational professional looking to take full responsibility for site performance, operational efficiency, maintenance strategy, team leadership, and long‑term business improvement. Reporting directly to the business owners, the successful candidate will play a key role in driving operational performance, increasing output, reducing costs, improving reliability, and supporting the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the day‑to‑day operation and performance of multiple renewable energy sites
Drive operational efficiency, output, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives
Manage operational teams, maintenance activities, contractors, and suppliers
Monitor site performance data and implement strategies to improve productivity and reduce downtime
Oversee maintenance planning and operational resource management
Support cost reduction and profitability improvement initiatives
Ensure full compliance with health & safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
Work closely with the business owners on operational strategy and business performance
Develop and maintain a strong operational and safety culture across all sites
Candidate Requirements
Proven senior operational management experience within renewable energy, industrial processing, manufacturing, utilities, engineering, or related sectors
Strong leadership and team management capability
Experience managing operational performance across multiple sites
Commercially minded with a track record of improving efficiency and reducing operational costs
Strong understanding of maintenance planning, operational reliability, and process improvement
Experience using operational monitoring systems and performance reporting tools
Excellent communication, organisational, and decision‑making skills
Hands‑on and proactive management style
Full UK driving licence
