We're currently looking for a Qualification Content Lead on a part time (17.5 hours per week), fixed term contract until 31st March This position sits within the ACCA Qualification team. We are flexible on the location of this role as we operate a 'digital first' approach.

The Qualification Content Leads form an essential part of the ACCA Qualification team, leading our external examining team members to deliver business relevant, first-choice examinations for future ACCA members and additional qualifications required by existing ACCA members globally.

The Job

Reporting to the Qualifications Content Manager, responsibilities include:

* Setting a clear and appropriate syllabus and learning outcomes for exams in your portfolio (which will predominantly be comprised of taxation variant exams) to ensure that learners are well prepared to sit an exam which is reflective of the syllabus and learning outcomes, set at the appropriate level of difficulty, achievable in the exam period and has clear, unambiguous requirements

* Holding ultimate responsibility for ensuring exams in your portfolio are of the highest quality

* Developing assessment models for each session, recognising multiple complex factors including the content and style of the assessments, the relevance, level and syllabus coverage and consistency within assessments

* Leading other members of the examining team throughout this process and liaising on proposed changes

* Ownership of the finalisation of assessments at the exam panel meetings, where required, providing detailed input to requirements and scenarios as needed to ensure each assessment meets ACCA and all regulatory requirements

* Leading the development and technical content of interactive learning modules for the ACCA Qualification

* Supporting the design and creation of learning support products aimed at meeting the needs of education providers and learners, hence contributing to progression to membership, exam entry and the recruitment of future members

* Ensuring all examinable documents are up to date and technical articles are produced to cover new legislation or other change and create and deliver presentations to explain relevant changes in your technical area

* Leading marking standardisation meetings, where relevant, for your portfolio of exams after each exam session, ensuring the marking process meets the quality standards required by ACCA.

* Quality assurance of specimen exams and published content reviews, to ensure learning materials are appropriate

* Supporting the selection of external examining team members and lead on training and feedback.

The Person

We're looking for someone who has:

* A professional accountancy, and/or tax qualification or equivalent, obtained mainly with good first time passes and post qualification tax experience, either in practice or via teaching, is desirable

* Excellent technical understanding of the relevant syllabus subject (Taxation)

* Excellent attention to detail in relation to numerical accuracy, adherence to house style and consistency across different exams

* Strong people skills with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues internally and externally

* The ability to deal effectively with work volumes, to strict deadlines

* Particularly good word processing and Excel skills

* Professionalism to act as an ambassador for ACCA in external meetings such as the Annual Tutor Conference, marking standardisation meetings and regulator meetings

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
