Role Overview:
We’re looking for a driven, ambitious individual — ideally a Pharmacy Manager but not necessarily a formally qualified pharmacist — to take on the role of Pharmacy Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technician or senior dispenser ready to step up into a management role. You’ll lead a busy dispensing team of around 20 people in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities: • Manage and motivate a dispensing team of 20 staff, ensuring high levels of performance, accuracy and morale. • Oversee the processing of NHS community prescriptions and servicing multiple nursing-home clients. • Maintain rigorous standards of compliance, accuracy and safe dispensing in line with regulatory requirements. • Work with senior leadership to optimise workflow, manage stock and maximise the operational efficiency of the pharmacy. • Foster a culture of continual improvement, with a focus on service excellence, accuracy and team development. • Report on key performance indicators and support strategic growth initiatives aligned with our care-home service offering.
Candidate Profile: • Registered pharmacy technician or senior dispenser looking to progress to a leadership role — pharmacist qualification is not essential. • Demonstrable experience working in a busy community pharmacy dispensing environment, ideally with nursing-home prescription servicing. • Proven leadership or aspirational management qualities: you’re hardworking, ambitious, and able to motivate and guide a team of 20 people. • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage complex workflows and improve processes. • A commitment to high standards of accuracy, service and professionalism in a high-volume pharmacy setting.
